When I was a child the queen never saved the day. There was the green-capped child knight, men with swords bigger than they were, boys training their pets to fight evil, even a plumber on shrooms. The few female options available were drowned out in a sea of testosterone. I’ve lived long enough for my childhood princesses to grow into generals.

Presented is a survey I ran that gathered the responses of 209 participants on their preferences for lead game character in relation to their gender. I also present findings from The Harvard Business Review, Circana’s Player Pulse, and the American Economic Review. Finally, I present solutions to creating products that elegantly address the needs of this market.

An art history app that shows the people and cultures connected to the process of making a single work of art. The landing page is an interactive spin wheel that allows the user to scroll through highlighted work. Clicking anywhere on the splash image will bring the user to the main page with information about that image. From there the user can either go back to the spin wheel or continue to explore the site by clicking on other images, author or artist names, or by searching using tags.

A quick redesign of the account creation process to be in line with best practices from NN/G and give users a friendlier and more visually satisfying experience.

A budgeting app for brains that struggle with the current offerings on the market. It allows for complete customization of categories and visual representation of where your money is at the moment and where you want it to go. Most importantly it is always up to date and shows you what your available funds are right NOW.
